Namibia: Invader Bush Could Be Put to Good Use

Namibia is endowed with invader bush or bush encroachment in abundance. Studies have found that 26000million hectares of land are overrun by this bush which is a problem because it has tremendously reduced the carrying capacity of the land.

Although this is the case, invader bush can be used to not only generate electricity, make bush blocks and charcoal, but it can also be used to manufacture furniture and toys, among many other products.

It is also said that only one and a half million hectares can cover the electricity needs of the entire Namibia, and there would be no need to look elsewhere.
