Mexico’s government is developing plans to boost tax collection by 3 percent of gross domestic product over the next six years, deputy Finance Minister Fernando de Jesus Sanchez Ugarte said.
Mexico, which relies on oil to fund more than a third of federal spending, must reduce its dependence on oil revenue, Sanchez Ugarte, the deputy minister in charge of spending, said during a public discussion with lawmakers in Mexico City on how to change the tax code.
