Output will hover at 2.7 to 2.8 million barrels a day through 2010, and start increasing in 2011 to reach 3 million barrels a day in 2015, Kessel said.
Oil is Mexico’s biggest source of foreign income and finances about 40 percent of its annual budget, but sagging investment by cash-strapped state oil monopoly Petroleos Mexicanos has led to a steady decline in output since 2004, when it peaked at about 3.4 million barrels per day.
