U.S. scientists say they have developed a method of temporarily reducing the viscosity of crude oil — an advance called the equivalent of a magic wand.
Rongina Tao and Xiaojun Xu of Temple University say their method uses a magnetic field to make tiny, wax-like particles in paraffin-based crude oil clump together into a smaller number of large particles.
