Matt Savinar: Analysis of Matt Simmons’s Astrological Chart

If you’ve learned about Peak Oil anytime in the last 10 years, there is an excellent chance you learned about it from one of only a handful of sources, most of whom occupied the fringes of the alternative media. (Investigative reporter Michael C. Ruppert, whose chart I analyzed here, is one notable example.) The perceived legitimacy of alternative thinkers such as Mike was largely the result of the “credibility wake” generated by maverick investment banker and Peak Oil stalwart Matthew R. Simmons, seen here in the 2005 documentary A Crude Awakening:

For years, concerns over Peak Oil had been dismissed as “the wacky proclamations of a doomsday cult, an apocalypse bible prophecy sect, or conspiracy theory society”, to quote my own contribution to the Peak Oil infosphere. (Source) Simmons, the CEO of the world’s most successful energy investment bank and a member of George W. Bush’s inner circle, could not be written off so easily. As a 2007 article in Texas Monthly pointed out, his uber-insider pedigree made him an extremely effective if unlikely Cassandra. (Source)

So what made this man of such seemingly divergent paths tick? For the answer to that we turn to the most effective psychological profiling tool known to man: astrology.

Aries Sun, Taurus Moon: Six Shooting Straight Talker Meets the Big Business Money Maker

Born April 7 1943 in Kaysville Utah, Simmons is an Aries Sun, Taurus Moon. (See Chart)

At its highest expression, this combination combines the accumulative instincts of Taurus with the ass-kicking mentality of Aries. Of the 144 Sun/Moon pairings, Aries Sun, Taurus Moon is arguably the pairing most likely to become a self-made millionaire. Astrologer Jefferson Anderson refers to Aries Sun, Taurus Moon as the pairing of “The Fortune Hunter”, explaining that:

Committed to action and work ethic, material security is your primary concern. Your eye for money management will always assure you the good things in life . . . (Source)

Astrologers Charles and Suzi Harvey refer to the Aries Sun, Taurus Moon native as “the merchant adventurer” who is equal parts “six shooting enforcer and sweet talking charmer”. (Source) Emphasizing this combination’s penchant for business success, they write:

Yours is a personality which is impressively confident, strongly influential, and blatantly determined to get what you want. This, together wit your sheer enjoyment of the material world, gives you a natural flair for financial and business matters . . .

You have a natural understanding of money and property which, combined with a competitive instinct makes you a natural entrepreneur, a ready player of the stock market . . . (Source)

Belying its propensity for worldly accumulation, Aries Sun, Taurus Moon is also endowed with an awareness of matters more ethereal than material. The Harveys write:

For all your firm grasp of material matters . . . there will always be a space in your life where, despite yourself, an element of enchantment and the sheer dynamic mystery of life expresses itself. (Source)

Simmons, a very outspoken critic of the oil company BP, passed last summer during the BP oil spill. (Source) His death was ruled to either be a drowning brought on by a heart attack or a heart attack brought on by a drowning. I’ll admit the first thing that occurred to me when I heard of his death was the scene in Enemy of the State where the Congressman who refuses to play ball with the powers that be is heart attacked and drowned. (See Video) While I’m not one to rule out more sinister possibilities, I doubt Simmons died as a result of some type of corp-gov hitjob. So what did kill him? My guess is the BP oil spill inflicted such a deep wound to the part of Simmons’s psyche “enchanted with the dynamic mystery of life” that he simply couldn’t take it any longer. BP didn’t have him killed for speaking out about the oil spill but BP’s oil spill was responsible for his death, even if only on the psychic and ethereal planes.

Mars in Aquarius: Inner God of War in the Sign of the Disruptor, the Truth Speaker

In a person’s chart, Mars describes how they fight and how they fuck, what their default method(s) are for both defending themselves and taking down an enemy. Simmons’s Mars is in Aquarius, the sign of The Outlaw, The Genius, The Exile, the Madman, the Rebel. That means he will fight in a manner congruent with the patterns of those archetypes: use of shocking words, out of left field strategies, and innovative methods that seriously disrupt the status quo.

According to astrologer Ada Aubin, Mars in Aquarius is the Mars placement most likely to “take down the establishment.” (Source)

Julian Assange of Wikileaks fame also has Mars in Aquarius. (Source)

Simmons’s Mars at 22 degrees Aquarius is conjunct his South Node at 23 degrees Aquarius. The South Node is the primary past life indicator in a person’s chart. When Mars (the planet of warfare) is conjunct the South Node (past lives) and placed in Aquarius (truth speaking), as is the case in Simmons’s chart, it means the person has spent many past lives going to battle with the status quo. When Mike Ruppert referred to Simmons’s as “a warrior” in his tribute to him, he was very correct both in terms of Simmons’s most recent life and previous ones too.

There is a great report left over from the middle ages when the Pope at that time asked if Astrology is a sight, gift from God. The investigating Priest came back said it is the most sad and ruthless form of lies which are told over and over, a con game. When such articles are published I wonder if peak oil real, evidenced based claims, or is it fantasy of right and left wing doom cults, which have been shouting our doom since the times man could paint on cave walls. PS BE warned many peak oil folks are selling fear so that u can buy their products.

Gates, Either you are an employee of Big Oil, a pimp for Wall Street, or just not intelligent, or all three. Peak oil is here. Even the US Military admits it. We have passed our energy zenith and are heading down the other side of the hill. The only ones who don’t accept that are those with something to lose if it is true. But then, we all have some major downgrades to our lives coming in the next decades, don’t we.

Whether Astrology is or is not real will not affect the depletion of our natural resources at increasing rates until they are gone. Technology relies on them to exist, as does Capitalism. Both are going to wane as growth stops and contracts for the rest of man’s future.

A lot of Ameicans believe that the automobile culture and all its trimmings are as organic as the changes of season and will thus always be with us. Recently, a fellow engineer who would describe himself as educated and knowledgeable walked into my office for some clarification: “How much oil does America burn?”, he started, “20,000 barrels per day?” Ahem … When the stark facts of oil production and consumption elude so many who consider themselves informed, it is not surprising that the likes of Gates Outcast can insist on maintaining a fantasy of never-ending oil. (BTW, American burns through about 20,000,000 barrels of oil per day).
