Many oil tanker firms avoiding Suez: Intertanko

LONDON (Reuters) – Big oil tanker association Intertanko said on Thursday it was aware of many oil tanker firms that were avoiding Suez because of rampant piracy off Somalia, without naming them.

The International Association of Independent Tanker Owners said that it fully supported the “many tanker operators” who had declared their intention to avoid the Gulf of Aden, and voyage around the Cape of Good Hope.
