Schlumberger – Libya’s oil head said Thursday that the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries can’t do anything to ease current high oil prices.
“OPEC can’t do anything more than we are already doing, there is no spare capacity to add,” Shokri Ghanem, told Dow Jones Newswires. His comments follow an announcement by OPEC that the group will meet ahead of its scheduled September meeting if required after oil prices rose following BP PLC’s (BP) oil field woes in Alaska.
