Kuwait: Oil sector essential to avert power cuts

Kuwait’s Ministry of Oil stressed on Sunday the significant role by the oil sector for apportioning electricity consumption in the country so as to avert power cuts during the summer.
The oil sector team, formed by the executive committee for apportioning electricity and water consumption at the state institutions held a meeting today chaired by member of the Ministry’s Higher Executive Committee and Assistant Undersecretary for Control and Information, Adel Al-Jassem, a Ministry statement said.

The meeting recommended demonstrating the role and effectiveness of the oil sector for reducing the consumption of electricity daily, especially from 1 to 4 pm to avoid power cuts in houses and at the state influential facilities.
Recommendations underlined the necessity of collaboration with the Ministries of Electricity and Water, Education and Interior besides other official institutions to avoid any negative developments that could lead to a crisis of power cuts nationwide.
