LAGOS (AFP) – Eight foreign oil workers kidnapped off a drilling platform in southern Nigeria Friday are in good health and there are no fears for their safety, a federal police spokesman said.
“We are still working on it and investigating the matter with continuing efforts,” spokesman Haz Iwendi told AFP. “We are hopeful that very soon we’ll come to a positive solution.”
He said: “The hostages are in good health,” adding that there was “no cause for alarm.”
Earlier a regional separatist group that has previously abducted foreign oil workers denied any involvement in the latest kidnap of six Britons, a Canadian and an American.
