Itochu Corp plans to build the world’s largest geothermal power plant in Indonesia to tap demand for alternative energy sources in Asia as crude oil prices rise, the Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported without citing sources.
The facility, which will be built in North Sumatra, is estimated to cost 600 mln usd or about 68 bln yen, the business daily said. With three generators, the power will produce about 330 megawatts of electricity.
