Japan is ready to buy from Russia significant amounts of oil that will be transported to the Pacific coasts through the planned system Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean, a high-ranking Japanese diplomat told Itar-Tass on Friday.
He said that this would allow Japan to substantially curtail dependence on deliveries from the Middle East, the proportion of which in Japan’s oil imports is 88 percent at present.
