Iran pushes for ‘peace’ pipeline

Tehran said yesterday New Delhi had taken an encouraging and positive stance with its decision to consider joining a proposed gas pipeline project running from Iran to India, through Pakistan.

Energy-hungry India said last week it would consider a pipeline through Pakistan as ties between the nuclear foes improve due to a cautious peace process, boosted by Indian Foreign Minister Natwar Singh’s trip to Islamabad this month.
