Indonesia is all set to overtake Malaysia as the world’s largest producer of palm kernel and palm oil. In the current year, Malaysia palm oil production is expected to drop to 14.8 million tonne, while Indonesian production is expected to reach 15 million tonne, exceeding Malaysia for the first time in history.
Palm kernel production in Indonesia is set to increase by 7.14% to 4.13 million metric tonne (MMT) while that of Malaysia’s is set to drop 2.85% to 3.92 MMT.
