INDONESIA is facing a shortage of fuel as world oil prices reach an all-time high while it is struggling to pay for oil imports.
The police were ordered yesterday to secure petrol stations across the vast archipelago in anticipation of potential unrest in the light of the shortages.
In several cities people queued for hours to fill their cars and motorcycles with diesel and petrol while people carrying jerrycans and other containers also lined up along petrol kiosks.
