India would look at joining hands with China for acquiring oil and gas properties in third countries, particularly in the Caspian region, Central Asia, Africa and Latin America, the Additional Secretary (International Cooperation), in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Mr Talmiz Ahmad, said here on Friday.
Till now the two countries have been competing with each other for acquiring properties abroad.
Mr Ahmad is leading a high-level delegation on a five-day visit to China next week to explore opportunities for cooperation in their pursuit of securing energy security.
