To promote use of renewable energy, the Delhi Cabinet on Monday approved a scheme for grant of rebate amounting to Rs. 6,000 on installation of Solar Water Heating System (SWHS) replacing electric geysers at residences.
In Delhi, the move assumes significances since the morning peak demand in winter months is mostly due to heating appliances like geysers, which are heavy guzzlers of electricity.
