India is considering having South Africa’s Sasol construct a $6 billion coal-to-fuel plant.
Indian Finance Minister Palaniappan Chidambaram lauded the potential of Sasol’s investment in helping to alleviate India’s energy shortages. Johannesburg’s Business Day reported that Sasol’s petrochemical expertise would put it in an enviable position in both India and China, the two fastest-growing economies in the world.
