In a world of guzzlers, India is fuel saver

But analysts may be wrong about India. The country, with industries running at full steam, car ownership that tripled over the last decade and a booming aviation sector, seems to have emerged an oil saver. Last year, consumption dropped 3.5%, says British Petroleum’s Statistical Review of World Energy 2006.
