The International Monetary Fund on Tuesday raised its growth forecast for the global economy to 4.9 percent for this year from the 4.3 percent predicted last September. Global growth, however, will slow slightly to 4.7 percent in 2007, according to an IMF report issued at a meeting of finance ministers from the 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations plus China, South Korea and Japan.
