Obviously, the U.S. is far from perfect and becoming less and less “free” by the minute, but at least here you can still say something negative about the Prophet (or Jesus) and draw a religious cartoon without losing your head. Women are also free to speak in public, go outside uncovered and unaccompanied by a chaperone, drive a car, hold a job, run for office, use birth control, etc.

I’ve never understood the colossal blindspot that most liberals have for Islam (barring Bill Maher, Sam Harris, Richard Dawkins and a few others). It’s as if they are reflexively pro-Islam because the conservatives are so against it.

Even assuming world population does collapse by century’s end due to resource depletion, overpopulation and/or nuclear winter (far from certain), it would take more than those things combined to wipe every single ‘cancer ape’ off the planet. Humans have proven to be a surprisingly resilient race (to the doom of many other species) and have gone through evolutionary bottlenecks before –and at a much lower level of technology.

As far as religion goes, natural disasters and societal collapse tends to make common people MORE not less religious. When secular/civil institutions fail, literacy, numeracy and critical thinking drop like a stone, leaving a vacuum to be quickly replaced with religion, superstition and folklore.

I predict that by 2099 there will still be billions of humans on the planet and religion –in whatever specific form it takes– will still be popular, probably even more so than now.

While I agree that industrial civilization + overpopulation has impoverished and degraded the biosphere to a degree not seen since an asteroid slammed into the planet 65 million years ago, I seriously doubt anything short of global nuclear war (or another asteroid) could lead to our total extinction anytime soon.

Even assuming industrial BAU “civilization” really collapses by end of this century (highly debatable), it is unlikely to wipe out the entire species, largely because (a) our vast numbers make it unlikely that *every* human being will die everywhere, and (b) “civilization” itself –combined with our genes for myopia, selfishness and stupidity– is the cause of our problems. Once “civilization” collapses, so will population, pollution, energy use, mining, industrial farming and consumption levels. Once those other things collapse, the biosphere will actually have an opportunity to recover.

Collapse (assuming it even materializes this century) is also likely to be very uneven –much like previous collapses in recorded history. Yes, the economy is more globally interconnected now (at least for Western countries), but many nations are at vastly different levels of technology and development. Collapse could create neo-feudalistic states in the developed world that still retains fragments of the otherwise abandoned advanced technology (sort of like “Badlands” scenario). While life in other, less “developed” parts of the world is likely to go on much as before. Still other regions might fall into total Mad Max chaos. So many possibilities.

The lefty white liberals are determined to turn the USA into Syria, because of their white guilt complex. Less unspoken, but the republicans are equally guilty. They have only one agenda, fraud, corruption, and stealing money in Trillion dollar bundles. They say anything to get the right side votes. They say, we oppose abortion. They say, we will stop people from burning the flag. The republican say, we are pro family values. The repubs say, we want a gun in every lunch pail.
They even ssy, we want English as the national language.

Then when they gave said all that and gotten elected, what do republicans do? Back up the moving van into your driveway and empty out your house, starting with the Color TV.

Repubs only steal and they don’t care about the country or its survival. I’d Teump wins, he will just give himself free real estate, and nothing else.

Those mislims will keep pouring in whether it’s right or left in the White House, so you better buy yourself a camel and a prayer rug, or move to the mountains in Canada. None of it makes a drop of sense and Theedrixh calling them suicidal crazies not just the midslims but the political rulers too, who would allow all them into our country and Theedrixh spoke truth.

Go Speed, the elite are in the process of leveling the US (and Europe) to that of the rest of the world. It has been going on for at least 40 years, but they see climate change ruining their plan of ruling the world and are speeding up the process, making it more obvious to the sheeple.

Importing foreigners is part of the plan. That is why nothing has really been done to stop illegal immigration from the south or the north. If they were serious, they could bring home the 118,000* troops in Germany, S.Korea and Japan, all friends and allies, and man the US borders.

The US is destined to become a 3rd world country before they are finished. I would say they are almost there. Open your eyes and pull back the curtain.

Almost half of the US Imperial military is in foreign countries today. And you are paying the maintenance of them and their families, in most cases. Meanwhile cheap labor is pouring into your neighborhood, underbidding your job and shrinking your income. They can live 10 to an apartment. How many employed people live in YOUR home? 10? 2? 1? None? Open your eyes and take to the streets. ‘Voting’ will change nothing.

Harquebus, you are correct. The indoctrination begins at birth. First by the parents, then by the religious organization and locks it in by peer pressure and fear. When you start to earn money the organizational hand comes out and you are expected to support your religious master and build huge edifices to his/her glory.

Does this also sound like your government? It should, because it is built on the same plan. Same mental chains. Same lack of freedom. And then you pass it on to your offspring as sure as the sun comes up tomorrow, IF you never look behind the curtain and revolt, in both instances.
