Hastings gas station fined $10,000

Palatka, FL – A Hastings convenience store that sells gas has been fined $10,000 by state officials for alleged gas price gouging, according to a press release from the Florida Office of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

The Buzzmart station at 9895 South County Road 13 is fined for allegedly raising gas prices by 53.2 cents per gallon during a federal disaster declared during recent hurricanes. The Buzzmart in Hastings has three separate stores in it; a hardware store, a convenience store and gas pumps.

According to Ron Brown, attorney for Buzzmart Corporation, Buzzmart Partnership is a leasee of the Buzzmart Corporation which operates a hardware store in back of the fuel services business. Buzzmart Partnership which operates the convenience and fuel services side of the complex was levied the $10,000 fine.
