Governor seeks more energy aid

DENVER – Gov. Bill Owens on Thursday asked for an additional $10 million in energy assistance for low-income Coloradans in response to the rising cost of home heating.

The additional $10 million brings the total proposed state aid for the Low-income Energy Assistance Program, or LEAP, to $20 million for the 2005-06 winter.
