Gas guzzler China plans to build gas reserves

China, the biggest gas guzzler in the world, is set to build strategic reserves to avoid supply disruptions. This comes close on the heels of India’s decision to build a strategic oil and gas storage. Further, the fastest developing economy is considering rapid expansion in investments in the energy sector.

Both domestic and foreign companies are being encouraged to invest in the energy industry that has been included in the category of “encouraged industries” and enjoys favourable taxation policies.
