Vanguard’s investigations revealed that in places like Obiaruku, a litre of kerosene (DPK) sells for as much as N80.00 per litre while diesel (AGO) goes for as much as N100.00 per litre.
In Warri and Effurun, kerosene is sold at N100.00 per litre and N125.00 per litre for diesel, respectively in some filling stations where these products are available. Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) goes for between N70 to N75.00 at various service stations where only one service pump is used to create unnecessary queues.
Market women and children are seen at filling stations in large numbers struggling to purchase kerosene with jerry cans with some of them carrying as much as 10 jerry cans.
