Fuel prices are driving up fire budgets in Sun Cities

SUN CITIES – The cost of fire and emergency services is going up in Sun City and Sun City West.

In fact, rising fuel costs are among the factors driving budget increases for the fire districts in both retirement communities.

The five-member fire boards in Sun City and Sun City West have proposed operating budgets totaling more than $20.7 million for the fiscal year that starts July 1.

That’s a combined increase of more than $1.98 million from current budgets.
