Ford Motor Co. (F) Tuesday called on U.S. lawmakers and oil companies to help advance development of E-85 fueling stations as part of an effort to reduce the country’s dependence on foreign oil.
Speaking before a U.S. Senate energy panel on the issue of U.S. energy independence, Sue Cischke, Ford’s vice president of Environmental and Safety Engineering, said the company is steadily building flexible fuel vehicles that can handle E-85, but there aren’t enough fueling stations at which consumers can buy the alternative fuel.
