The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries is unlikely to stray far from its policy of pumping crude volumes near a 25-year high when it meets Wednesday, given high prices and turmoil among some of its leading producers.

OPEC is also aware that a historically low level of spare oil output capacity leaves no room for complacency with the global economy motoring ahead, geopolitical tensions still bubbling, the U.S. summer driving season around the corner, and the start of the U.S. hurricane season just four months away.
