EU outlines plans for aviation to cut greenhouse gases

Europe’s airlines will have at least four years to implement a new EU-wide emissions trading system under plans presented in Brussels yesterday to curb the rise in greenhouse gases.

The European Commission believes that the system is more cost-efficient and effective than levying new taxes on airline tickets.
