EU forging closer ties with US on clean energy

The EU and US are making progress on developing a joint strategy on cleaner fuels, energy commissioner Andris Piebalgs said on Tuesday.

After a meeting with US Energy Secretary Bodman in Washington, the commissioner said new technologies were only part of the energy mix to secure long-term fuel supplies.
