Downturn in UK oil and gas production

The decline in oil production continued a trend that was seen throughout 2004, according to the latest Royal Bank of Scotland oil and gas index.

UK oil production averaged 1.73 million barrels per day, up 6.4% on the month, but down 14.8% on the year.
