Devon Pulls US Gulf Workers Due to Storm

(Reuters) – Devon Energy Corp. said on Sunday it evacuated construction workers from a deepwater platform in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico because of Tropical Storm Alberto.

The workers were evacuated from a platform in the Main Pass of the Gulf to reduce the number of workers who may have to be evacuated “in case harsh weather develops,” said Devon spokesman Brian Engel.
