Early models show a fast-moving Tropical Storm Dennis moving further south away from Florida later this week and possibly following a path into Louisiana as a Category 3 hurricane with 115 mph winds, according to Local 6 News Meteorologist Tom Sorrells.
Tropical Depression 4 became Dennis Tuesday morning and is expected to affect Florida’s weather this weekend as it moves up the state’s Gulf Coast.
“The weekend is going to be wet no matter what,” Sorrells said. “The good news is, for now, most of the modeling takes it well to the south of us and into the Gulf of Mexico. If you are in Louisiana, that is not good news because where Tropical Storm Cindy is going, that is where Tropical Storm Dennis will end up (according to the latest model).”
