Current State of Nebraska Ethanol Industry

The Nebraska Corn Board Chair said it’s a very challenging time for the industry. The latest challenge, Aventine Renewable Energy announced 1 1/2 weeks ago that Aurora’s Nebraska Energy plant was bankrupt.

Jon Holzfuster said, “The industry is very young and a lot of these plants right now haven’t had the timeline to prepare for slim or negative margins that hit us. It’s a very trying time for ethanol.”
