Crude oil and natural gas supplies in India’s northeastern state of Assam has been severely hit with separatists bombing several pipelines ahead of this week’s Republic Day, officials Monday said.
A police spokesman said suspected separatist rebels of the outlawed United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) beginning Friday triggered a string of grenade attacks and bomb blasts across the state, mostly targeting gas, oil, and power installations.
