Nuclear inspectors have raised questions about the safety of Britain’s ageing atomic power stations, some of which have developed big cracks in their reactor cores, documents have revealed.
Safety assessments by government inspectors obtained under freedom-of-information legislation show Britain’s Nuclear Safety Directorate has issued warnings over the deterioration of reactor cores at Hinkley Point B and other nuclear plants.
