County modifies wilderness area recommendations to allow oil and gas exploration

The White Pine County wants less land designated as federal wilderness in the proposed public lands bill.

Cedarstrat founder Alan Chamberlain’s earlier presentation to county commission paid off: recommendations for proposed wilderness area boundaries will be changed to allow for oil drilling and exploration. Commissioners also motioned Wednesday not to attempt to expand the boundaries of the Great Basin National Park.
