Specific to Nevada, Clinton spoke of the state’s abundance of wind, solar and geothermal resources, which could serve to make the U.S. less dependant on foreign oil.
With the amount of wind in Nevada each year, Clinton said the state should be packed with wind turbines and, in an energy crisis, could easily become a model for solar power.
What’s more, Clinton said, the creation of American jobs for such new energy sources could be upwards around 5 million new positions.
Overall, the Senator said the U.S. needs to be build to a goal of producing 25 percent of its own energy requirements by 2025.She also noted the need for more hybrid vehicles in the U.S. and added Ford’s Model T was more fuel efficient than most automobiles today.
