Houston Chronicle – Chevron Corp. said Thursday it’s teaming up with the Georgia Institute of Technology for research and development of the next generation biofuel and hydrogen-powered transportation technologies.
Chevron subsidiary Chevron Technology Ventures will contribute up to $12 million over five years for research with the school’s Strategic Energy Institute, the company said.
The two say they want to look beyond ethanol to study forest and agricultural waste and other possibilities for the next generation of alternative fuels. The companies say they hope to develop a commercially viable technology.
