CEPAL calls for regional energy market in central America

The Latin American and Caribbean Economic Commission (CEPAL) called for the creation of aregional energy market in central America to promote competition, local media reported on Thursday.

Central America is in urgent need of competition in energy product distribution, said Fernando Cuevas, head of CEPAL’s energyand natural resources department, in presentation of a CEPAL’s report on the petroleum industry.
