Call for intensifying oil exploration in Iran

 An oil industry official said that the country has a huge potential to undertake new oil exploration projects, stressing that Azadegan and Yadavaran oilfields were discovered at a time when no one believed there would be such huge hydrocarbon reserves in the country.

Mohammad Reza Kamali, who heads the Oil Industry Research Center?s Department for Exploration and Production Studies, told ISNA that the country needs to discover one barrel of crude oil in exchange for each barrel it produces daily.
