Bus systems see ridership increases

Public transportation is a lifeline for Linda Hanes. When she has to get to her dialysis appointment, Hanes relies on Cadillac-Wexford Transit Authority for a ride. Wheelchair bound, the senior citizen also depends on the bus system to get to the grocery store and other destinations necessary to meet her survival needs.

A growing number of people are counting on area bus systems as their primary mode of transportation, according to local transit directors.
