Blair under attack over gas prices

Tony Blair was forced to defend the government’s energy policy on Wednesday after the opposition leader Michael Howard accused his government of failing to act on repeated warnings about the cold winter ahead.

In harsh exchanges during prime minister’s question time, Mr Howard accused the Blair government of being “on the skids“ and unable to cope with the challenges facing it.
