Biofuel switch now vital

Farmers are calling for a government minister dedicated to co-ordinating climate change and renewable energy policy.

As environment and agriculture ministers from the EU met in London at the weekend to discuss how to put sustainable principles into practice, the National Farmers’ Union called on the Government to give a higher priority to renewable energy production, and focus on rewarding energy conservation rather than simply penalising energy use.
