Bid to ban strikes in oil, energy

WORKERS in Australia’s power, oil and gas industries could lose their rights to strike under a radical proposal being considered by the Howard Government.

A new business-backed taskforce, advised by law firm Clayton Utz, has told Workplace Relations Minister Kevin Andrews to effectively ban strikes in essential service industries.
