University of Wyoming students in the College of Engineering covered the concepts of peak oil and renewable energy with Wyoming
In his book, Deffeyes discusses the concept of peak oil and how the United States must explore renewable forms of energy.
The students discussed topics such as nuclear and wind energy, solar power, fuel cells and coal bed methane.
Charles W. Dolan, the HT Person Chair of Engineering, said nine students from his senior design class were involved in the discussion because of their end-of-year project, which is to figure out ways to extract gas from the Jonah Field without disturbing the environment.
