SYDNEY, May 3 (Reuters) – New vehicle sales in Australia rose 10.1 percent in April over the same month last year, the Australian Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries said on Thursday.
Sales fell 19.9 percent in April compared to March, though this series is not seasonally adjusted and is affected by variable factors such as the number of selling days.
The VFACTS report said 330,682 vehicles had been sold in the year so far, 9.0 percent ahead of the same period in 2006. The April result equated to a seasonally adjusted annualised rate of 1.053 million vehicles.
