Due to increasing energy prices and concerns over the eventual decline of energy production, some Asian countries are taking additional measures to reduce their fuel consumption.
China’s official news agency reported today that the Chinese government is introducing new requirements for buildings to be energy-efficient. It indicated that China is also phasing out bricks made of soil, which use a substantial amount of energy to produce and provide poor insulation. The Chinese government intends to provide financial incentives to promote the construction of energy-efficient buildings as well.
