Yes, another doomer video. I’m starting to get sick of doomers. Sorry Peak Oil posters.

Ah yes Rick, but reality cannot be ignored just because you do want to see it. You obviously are not old enough to remember the 60s riots. The burning of cities. Deaths, etc. But, I am afraid you are going to experience the 21st century version and it will be worse.

I was in West LA in 1992 when the Rodney King Riots happened. Our local strip mall burned down, our local pub was shot up and my wife and I spent that Thursday afternoon trying to get home in a city where buses had stopped running, taxi drivers were being shot at and police were ignoring looters. This happened and I saw it, so the guy in the video is wrong when he says that the government manufactures these stories. Sometimes, bad stuff happens. I wish he was right, because I’m also an anarchist. But things aren’t always that simple or that nice. Yeah, people help each other after disasters strike, and that happened after the Rodney King Riots too – but sometimes people do bad things too.
By the evening, we were out stopping the looting of our local corner store and as the days wore on, people did indeed start helping each other. By the next week, we had the National Guard patrolling the streets.
Which all goes to show that it doesn’t take a lot to bring the system to its knees. We are going to see more of that kind of thing in the near future.

Apples and oranges, Beery.
The ’92 LA riots, were not a natural disaster but a rebellion. The uprising happened because of years of pent up frustration by black and latinos, who suffer(ed) tremendous abuse and brutality by the LA police only to see them acquitted, in a clear cut case of police barbarism. So in a way, all these riots are a direct result of the existence and because of the actions of the government a.k.a the state, and because of the absence of real anarchy.
