Through its geographic position and the available natural gas and oil resources, Romania could play a significant role in a project regarding the coordination of energetic resources and mutual aid in the European Union, said Poland’s ambassador to Romania.
The president and the government of Poland proposed NATO and EU member states an energy treaty to coordinate the available resources, stated Jacek Paliszewski, Poland’s ambassador. According to the diplomat, Romania’s part in the transit systems of raw energy materials from Russia is growing as few European countries have large reserves of natural gas and oil, while the rest of is imported. Moreover, in certain cases, the oil necessary is fully imported.
