I recently read two fascinating and compelling books by James Howard Kunstler that give a much darker and unsettling view of what the end of the fossil fuel era could mean.
One is nonfiction, called The Long Emergency. The other newer one is a novel called World Made By Hand.
Both basically depict the same scenario. So choose your preferred delivery method — fiction or nonfiction — for Kunstler’s dose of doom.
The Long Emergency lays out Kunstler’s predictions for the future. Whether it’s ten years from now or a hundred years from now, the era of easily extractable oil will end
